Networks are the backbone of all modern computer systems. We use them everyday, whether it’s to retrieve a file off of a file share, send and receive e-mail, check out our social media, or use a Voice over IP telephone.
Local Area Networks
We can handle all of your networking needs, be it installing a new LAN, upgrading your local network to Gigabit, or implementing a new Firewall or UTM device. We also have partners that can handle new physical cable runs.
If your network is slow, we can come in and perform diagnostics to figure out where the problem is and come up with a solution. Sometimes the problem can be as simple as a bad patch cable, sometimes more complicated such as a VLAN routing problem.
Remote Access
For employees or customers that need remote access to your systems, we recommend the use of a UTM device with VPN capabilities. In some cases (such as Graphic Designers) it may be better to set them up with a dedicated desktop and use a screen sharing system such as Remote Desktop (some other examples are LogMeIn, TeamViewer, and No Machine).
Broadband Internet Access
Gone are the days of the dial up modem. We all need consistent, fast access to the Internet. We can help you determine what your requirements are and assist you with identifying providers. We do recommend that you consider a second/backup internet circuit for those times when your primary provider is having problems. We can configure your routers/firewalls for automatic fail-over.
We have experience with Sonicwall, Cisco, and Watchguard routers and firewalls and are happy to work on devices from other vendors.
Wireless Networks
Wireless networks (aka Wi-Fi) have become important, both for providing access to difficult to reach areas of the office as well as romaing capabilities for Laptops and other mobile devices. We can install and configure Wi-Fi devices for you. We consider it good practice to configure a Guest WiFi that is securely separated from the rest of your network, both for guests and for non-business employee use.
